Hey Ya'll, I worked for a few hours and got my office put back together. It was a disaster and had gotten out of hand!

The first thing I like to do, as with any project, is empty the room. I do this for a few reasons. One reason... If the stuff doesn't belong in the room I'm reorganizing, it doesn't come back in. This forces me to deal with it. Another reason, it allows me to be able to clean the room well. It's a lot easier to vacuum and clean an empty space. When I can see the space empty, I can envision where things should be. I don't like a lot of clutter sitting on counters or table tops, so I'll always have a basket or cabinet where something belongs. And finally, if I empty the room and all the stuff is sitting in the hallway or on the back of the couch.. I'm a lot more likely to finish the project instead of just close the door and ignore the mess.
Because, lets be honest.. I've done that before!

As I was emptying the room, I threw away trash. My dog had knocked over my trashcan so there was trash everywhere..
He's lucky he's so cute!
I also try not to go far from the room I'm working in. Typically I just stack stuff outside the room. Then, after I put things back in, I'll relocate the items. I know this sounds a little counterproductive, but if I leave the room I'm working in, I'll get distracted and it'll take me all day. So, after I've finished in the office, I deal with the leftovers.
This includes trash.
I always have a trashcan or trashbag outside the door where I collect it. Because, again.. the trip to the dumpster is distracting!

After the room is emptied, I clean. Starting from the top to the bottom, I dust, clean surfaces, vacuum and mop. I used the Mrs. Myers spray in the Apple Cider scent, and OMG.. it is amazing for fall! It made the whole room smell yummy!

Once I cleaned, I thought about mounting a shelf on the wall above my computers for a tv, but decided that is not a project I needed to try alone. I have a walking pad my mom gave me, and I like using it to watch YouTube or TV, but I want a screen mounted higher.
Stay tuned for that.. I'll do it eventually.
The WalkingPad is awesome!

Once everything is clean, I start bringing things back in the room.
I started with the shelves.
I got all the buckets reorganized and put back where they belong.
I also combined a bucket or two so I'd have some space to store my camera equipment and tech stuff, like cords and chargers.

Once everything was back where it belonged..
I could breathe.
It's so much less stressful to create in a clean space. When it gets cluttered and so messy, I don't even want to be in there.
Here are a few before and after pictures.
I was able to make a big difference in a short amount of time.
I only worked on this for about 3 hours total.

"Amazing Transformation"
It was such an honor to have The Project Lady come to our home! She is so talented! She did a great job reorganizing my kitchen cabinets and drawers, and after years of thinking I could never have a pantry, she transformed the “black hole” closet under the stairs into an
amazingly functional and pretty pantry!
She also built a beautiful mantle for our fireplace!
It transformed the room!!
I cannot say enough about how talented she is!
Thank you, Britany!
